Campaign Legal Center is urging the South Carolina Supreme Court to strike down the state’s current congressional map and rule that extreme partisan gerrymandering violates the South Carolina Constitution.

Campaign Legal Center filed a “friend-of-the-court” brief on behalf of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara (MHA) Nation and individual voters from North Dakota to urge the U.S. Supreme Court to confirm that state legislatures can take Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act into consideration when drawing statewide maps.

Raffensperger, a challenge to Georgia’s at-large system of election for the state’s Public Service Commission under the Voting Rights Act.
