Erin leads CLC’s work to promote and defend strong campaign finance laws and ensure that existing laws are enforced.

Before joining CLC, Erin spent nearly a decade working on a wide range of campaign finance issues in the Federal Election Commission’s Office of General Counsel. From 2017 to 2018, Erin led the FEC’s Policy Division, overseeing all legal recommendations regarding FEC regulations, advisory opinions and other legal policy guidance. From 2009 to 2017, Erin served as an attorney and then as assistant general counsel in the FEC’s Litigation Division, litigating a wide range of campaign finance cases, including Holmes v. FEC, Independence Institute v. FEC, Stop This Insanity, Inc. v. FEC, and Free Speech v. FEC. 

Erin is a graduate of American University’s Washington College of Law (J.D., 2003) and Johns Hopkins University (B.A., 2000). She clerked for Judge Helen Gillmor of the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii. Erin is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, the State of New York, the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Ninth, Tenth and D.C. Circuits, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Erin joined CLC in August 2018.
