Campaign Legal Center and Singleton Schreiber filed an amicus brief on behalf of 53 former federal prosecutors and agents challenging a scheme that gives paid Truth Social subscribers early access to President Donald Trump’s official announcements. The brief argues that the arrangement enables self-dealing, encourages corruption and serves no legitimate government purpose.

The First Amendment protects Americans’ right to observe and take photos and videos of law enforcement officers — including federal agents involved in immigration enforcement — performing their official duties in public. Yet leadership at the highest levels of the federal government have authorized a policy of intimidation and retaliation against constitutional observers for exercising their First Amendment rights. 

Dozens of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents were fired for investigating efforts to interfere with the certification of results in the 2020 presidential election. Campaign Legal Center filed a brief in support of the agents’ cases challenging their firings, emphasizing the importance of First Amendment protections for nonpartisan law enforcement officials.
