Eric Kashdan

Director, Federal Advocacy

Eric is the director of CLC’s federal advocacy team, which works to develop and advance CLC’s policy priorities in Congress and the executive branch. He manages CLC’s ongoing lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill and collaborates with coalition partners to advocate for shared goals across all of CLC’s issue areas.

Eric serves as a leader in Campaign Legal Center’s efforts to advance its priorities through federal policy advocacy. He builds relationships with lawmakers and reform allies across the political spectrum, directly lobbies Congress and the executive branch, and works with all of CLC’s program teams to design and advocate for solutions to the challenges facing American democracy. During his time at CLC, he has helped to pass essential legislation like the Electoral Count Reform Act, as well as defeat proposals that would have undermined the rule of law and freedom to vote.

Before coming to CLC, Eric served as a Legislative Assistant in the United States Senate. His accomplishments included securing more than fifteen provisions in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and helping to create a program to provide broadband connectivity for students learning online during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eric has also worked on election law and civil rights issues for the Senate Judiciary Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, the National Governors Association, the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and Common Cause.

Eric received his B.A. from Boston University. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was a Blume Public Interest Scholar and the President of Georgetown Law Students for Democratic Reform. Eric is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia. Eric joined CLC in 2022.
