New Season of Democracy Decoded, Campaign Legal Center’s Award-Winning Podcast, Explores Threats to the Rule of Law
WASHINGTON — Today, with the rule of law under unprecedented threat in America, Campaign Legal Center has launched the sixth season of its award-winning podcast, Democracy Decoded.
Today’s season premiere focuses on the separation of powers and examines how the current administration is dismantling the rule of law, one executive action at a time. Host Simone Leeper is joined by NYU law professor Melissa Murray, retired federal judge Michael Luttig and Campaign Legal Center's Brent Ferguson to unpack how an increasingly emboldened executive, a passive Congress, and a compliant Supreme Court are eroding the constitutional safeguards that protect American democracy — and what can be done before it's too late.
Democracy Decoded’s sixth season will examine some of the defining constitutional questions shaping American democracy today. From the separation of powers and the role of the Department of Justice to presidential pardons, political dissent, citizenship and safeguarding our upcoming elections, each episode explores the people, institutions and legal principles at the center of today's most consequential debates.
Future guests will include professor and former U.S. attorney Joyce White Vance, former U.S. pardon attorney Liz Oyer, Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar and George Washington University Law School professor Spencer Overton, alongside several of Campaign Legal Center’s own experts who skillfully contextualize this moment for our country.
