
Heather Szilagyi
Heather Szilagyi serves as Counsel on the Voting Rights team.

Prior to joining CLC, Heather was a George N. Lindsay Fellow and Associate Counsel at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. At the Lawyers’ Committee, Heather worked to advance racial justice through voting rights and redistricting litigation and election protection efforts.
Heather received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she focused on voting rights, racial justice, and human rights law. During law school, she served as a legal intern at Reprieve-UK, the Brennan Center for Justice, the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and the ACLU Voting Rights Project. She was also a Senior Articles Editor for the NYU Review of Law and Social Change and a student staff editor for Just Security. She graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif.
Prior to law school, Heather worked with civil society and election administrators to support free and accessible elections around the world at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). While at IFES, she co-authored a book chapter that applied global standards for credible elections to the American electoral process. Heather graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Government from Dartmouth College.
Heather joined CLC in 2025. She is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and is a member of the bar of the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the District of Columbia, District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
