Robyn Bitner
Robyn joined Campaign Legal Center from the Civil Rights Division at the United States Department of Justice, where she spent nearly four years in the Special Litigation Section. Robyn’s work focused primarily on protecting children’s constitutional and disability-related rights while detained or committed in state and local juvenile justice systems. Previously, Robyn served as senior counsel at National Student Legal Defense Network, where she represented federal student loan borrowers in litigation challenging the United States Department of Education’s unlawful agency action and for-profit colleges’ misconduct. Before that, Robyn clerked for Judge James C. Cacheris on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Robyn began her legal career as a Skadden Fellow at Advocates for Children of New York, where she provided direct representation on enrollment, special education and school discipline issues to families with preschoolers living in temporary housing.
Robyn graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D. 2014), where she served on the Managing Board of the Virginia Law Review and received the Claire Corcoran Award for extraordinary commitment to public interest. Prior to law school, Robyn taught kindergarten and first grade at South Bronx Classical Charter School while attending Bank Street College of Education (M.S.Ed. 2011). Robyn graduated summa cum laude with distinction from the University of Colorado at Boulder (B.A. 2008).
Robyn is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia. She joined CLC in 2026.
