Marisa Wright
Marisa is Legal Counsel for the Voting Rights team. Her work focuses on advancing and enforcing state voting rights acts (state VRAs). She supports state VRA coalition campaigns across the country, including the successful passage of the Colorado, Maryland and New Jersey VRAs, as well as updates to the Washington and Virginia VRAs. Since joining CLC, she has collaborated with partner organizations to develop the national state VRA model bill; contributed to amicus briefs successfully defending the constitutionality of the New York VRA; and was counsel on the case that brought the first claim under the Virginia VRA. She also litigates other voting rights cases in state and federal courts.
Marisa is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Harvard Law School. She is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Marisa first joined CLC in 2024 as an Equal Justice Works fellow.
