Before joining CLC, Kate worked in impact litigation at the ACLU in Texas and Arizona, focusing on immigrants' rights issues, and at an environmental nonprofit. Her work at the ACLU included serving on the counsel team for intervenor defendants in Hotze v. Hollins, successfully protecting more than 127,000 ballots cast via drive-through voting in Harris County, Texas. Kate also clerked for Judge Stephen Reinhardt of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and Justice Goodwin Liu of the Supreme Court of California.
Kate is a graduate of Yale Law School and Princeton University. Before law school, she taught high school world history in Texas' Rio Grande Valley. She is admitted to practice only in Arizona and Texas. Kate joined CLC in 2024.
