Henry Rees-Sheridan spoke to Paul Smith, vice president of litigation and strategy at the Campaign Legal Center. “Before this decision, it was not illegal for an employer, in 29 of the 50 states in the private sector, to discriminate against a person based on their sexual orientation or their transgender status,” said Smith. “Now, in all 50 states, it is illegal, even for an employer in the private sector, to discriminate.”
