 On September 14, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court denied the U.S. Department of Justice's application for a stay of the preliminary injunction granted by the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. The district court's injunction blocking USPS's new Rule on mail voting from taking effect will remain in place through the 2026 midterm elections.
