United States v. New York State Board of Elections — Intervenor-Defendant-Appellee League of Women Voters of New York State’s Brief

On September 29, on behalf of the League of Women Voters of New York State, CLC and the Brennan Center for Justice filed our brief in support of affirmance in United States v. New York State Board of Elections, in which the U.S. DOJ is appealing the dismissal of its case seeking New York’s unredacted state voter registration list. This brief argues that the U.S. DOJ did not meet the legal requirements for such a demand, and that New York’s voter list is not a document that must be produced under the Civil Rights Act of 1960.
