United States v. Board of Elections of the State of New York, Memorandum-Decision and Order
On July 10, 2026, the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York issued its Memorandum-Decision in Order in United States v. Board of Elections of the State of New York, the United States Department of Justice’s lawsuit seeking to compel the State of New York to produce its unredacted voter registration list. The court’s decision (1) granted pending motions to intervene, including that of the League of Women Voters of New York State (LVWNYS); (2) dismissed the United States’s lawsuit, finding that the law did not entitle them to compel the voter registration list; and (3) denied the United States’s pending motion to compel.
