Turtle Mountain Petition for Certiorari

On behalf of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, the Spirit Lake Tribe, and individual Native American voters, Campaign Legal Center and co-counsel filed a petition for certiorari asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review and reverse the Eighth Circuit's recent decision that private plaintiffs cannot maintain a private right of action for alleged violations of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act through 42 U.S.C. § 1983 or Section 2 itself.
