Thompson-Wynn, et al. v. Byrd, et al. Complaint

On May 4, 2026, Campaign Legal Center, with co-counsel UCLA Voting Rights Project, filed a complaint on behalf of a group of Florida voters. The lawsuit alleges that the state's newly drawn congressional map, both as a whole and specifically with regard to the new districts drawn in the Tampa Bay and Orlando areas, violates the Florida Constitution’s express prohibition on partisan gerrymandering. Additionally, the lawsuit alleges that the map violates the Florida Constitution's prohibition on redistricting with the intent to favor or disfavor incumbents and the requirement to utilize political and geographic boundaries.
