Second Order on Summary Judgment
On January 30, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia issued an order granting summary judgment on CLC's claims challenging Section 3(d) of President Trump's March 2025 Executive Order on Voting, which would have required military and overseas voters to provide burdensome documentation of their U.S. citizenship when using the Federal Post Card Application to register to vote and request an absentee ballot. The Court declared that provision of the Executive Order violated the Constitutional separation of powers and permanently enjoined the Department of Defense from enforcing that section of the Order.
