Reply in Support of Plaintiffs' Motion for Preliminary Injunction

On September 9, 2026, the League of Women Voters of South Dakota and an individual voter filed a reply in support of their motion for a preliminary injunction against the South Dakota Secretary of State and State Board of Elections. Plaintiffs' reply reasserts their request for expedited narrow relief in advance of the November 2026 General Election and defends Plaintiffs' standing to bring this case. Without this relief, Plaintiffs argue many eligible voters will be denied their right to vote in upcoming state and local elections without ever having been provided with notice or an opportunity to fix issues with their voter registration application.
