Plaintiffs' Reply in Support of their Motion for a Preliminary Injunction
Plaintiffs filed their reply in response to Defendants' opposition to a preliminary injunction that would halt Defendants' Voter Registration Ban and allow Plaintiffs to once again engage with new citizens at administrative naturalization ceremonies. Plaintiffs' preliminary injunction motion is now fully briefed and awaiting a decision from the court. The Voter Registration Ban prevents Plaintiffs and other community groups from attending administrative naturalization ceremonies to assist new citizens with voter registration and provide them with civic education and information. The Ban fails to adhere to procedural and substantive requirements in the Administrative Procedure Act and infringes on Plaintiffs' First Amendment rights to engage in protected speech by reaching and engaging new citizens.
