Opposition to Plaintiffs' Motion for Preliminary Injunction
On February 12, 2026, Proposed League of Women Voters Intervenors filed an opposition to the Plaintiffs’ Motion for Preliminary Injunction because U.S. Supreme Court precedent directly forecloses Plaintiffs' case. Plaintiffs lack standing, the same issues are being fully litigated in state court, and state courts have the duty to impose lawful congressional maps when necessary. In addition, Plaintiffs unduly delayed in filing, the relief they request is both illegal and foreclosed by the Purcell principle, and they face no irreparable harm.
