Memorandum of Law in Support of the Motion of the LWVNYS to Intervene as Defendant

On October 24, 2025, Campaign Legal Center, along with the Brennan Center for Justice, filed on behalf of League of Women Voters of New York State (LWVNYS) a motion to intervene as defendant in United States v. Board of Elections of the State of New York, et al. In that case, the Department of Justice has sued the New York State Board of Elections and other state defendants for failing to turn over information, including sensitive voter data. The LWVNYS works to encourage civic participation in the state and represents hundreds of members across New York whose personal information may now be unlawfully shared depending on the outcome of this litigation.
