Memorandum of Law in Support of the Motion of the League of Women Voters of Michigan to Intervene as Defendant

On October 30, 2025, Campaign Legal Center along with the Brennan Center for Justice and Goodman Acker filed on behalf of League of Women Voters of Michigan (LWVMI) a motion to intervene as defendant in United States v. Benson. In that case, the Department of Justice has sued Michigan and its secretary of state for failing to turn over information, including sensitive voter data. LWVMI works to encourage civic participation in the state and represents hundreds of members across Michigan whose personal information may now be unlawfully shared depending on the outcome of this litigation.
