LUCHA v. Fontes — Supreme Court Stay Opposition
As part of CLC’s challenge to Arizona’s anti-voter laws that especially burden Latino and Native voters and students, CLC and other plaintiffs filed a Supreme Court brief opposing efforts to put in place parts of those laws for the 2024 election. CLC and other plaintiffs opposed the efforts of intervenor defendants, just weeks before the 2024 election, to arbitrarily deny voter registration to some applicants who use the state rather than the federal registration form and to bar certain voters from voting by mail.
