League of Women Voters v. USCIS, Final Judgment

On October 15, the court entered final judgment to permanently block a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) rule that banned the League of Women Voters and other non-governmental organizations from providing voter registration education and assistance to new citizens at administrative naturalization ceremonies. The court's order affirms that the League and other organizations may return to reaching and engaging new citizens at administrative naturalization ceremonies and reasserts the court's findings from an August 3 preliminary injunction opinion and order that the USCIS rule violates the Administrative Procedure Act and infringes upon the League's First Amendment right to provide voter registration services.
