In-Depth Explainer: SAVE Act
The SAVE Act would require every American to provide documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) to register to vote in federal elections or change or update their voter registration. These requirements are wholly unnecessary. The SAVE Act creates problems and solves none. In reality, this bill imposes significant new burdens on voters, election officials, government agencies, and civic engagement organizations, making it harder for all eligible voters to register and cast their ballots.
