Denial of Certiorari

On October 7, 2024, the Supreme Court denied a petition for certiorari from the plaintiffs in a long-running challenge to San Francisco’s disclosure law, preserving the requirement that groups running campaign ads in city elections include a disclaimer listing their top three donors. If a top donor is a committee, the city law also requires the group to “trace back” its funding to the top two donors of that committee, ensuring the true sources of campaign money are disclosed to the public.
