DC National Guard Amicus Brief

On behalf of 114 members of Congress, Campaign Legal Center filed an amicus brief in District of Columbia v. Trump, a D.C. Circuit case evaluating President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to the District of Columbia. Rooted in the text, structure and legislative history of the Home Rule Act, the brief argues that the Court should affirm the district court’s holding that the deployment of National Guard troops exceeds the president’s authority.
