Comment Opposing USPS's Proposed Rule on Mail Voting 

On July 1, 2026, Campaign Legal Center and Democracy Defenders Fund submitted a comment urging USPS to abandon a proposed rule to carry out President Trump's illegal executive order on mail voting. As the comment explains, the rule infringes on the constitutional authority of states to administer their own elections and violates several postal laws. It would also transform USPS from a common carrier into a gatekeeper for mail voting, cause chaos in the mail stream, and risk disenfranchising tens of millions of eligible voters.
