CLC Urges the U.S. Senate to Vote NO on the SAVE America Act

Date

Campaign Legal Center sent a letter to every member of the United States Senate, urging lawmakers to vote NO on the SAVE America Act (S. 1383). Co-signed by CLC's President Trevor Potter, a Republican former chairman of the Federal Election Commission, as well as CLC's Adav Noti and Bruce V. Spiva, this letter explains how the SAVE America Act would dramatically reshape how Americans register and vote. If passed, it would impose extreme and unnecessary documentation requirements on the voter registration process, overhaul some of the most popular pieces of our current electoral system, force states to hand over voters' sensitive information to the federal government and significantly burden election workers. To prevent these harms, the U.S. Senate must reject this dangerous legislation.
