CLC Letter to North Carolina Governor Josh Stein Urging Veto of S.B. 416

On July 2, 2025, Campaign Legal Center sent a letter to North Carolina Governor Josh Stein’s office urging him to veto S.B. 416, which broadly prohibits government agencies from obtaining donor information from nonprofit organizations, including nonprofits that engage in substantial amounts of political spending. CLC opposes S.B. 416’s secrecy mandates because they would undermine transparency and accountability in North Carolina government.
