CLC Files Hatch Act Complaint with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel Regarding Possible Hatch Act Violations Committed by Senior Trump Administration Officials in the Production and Distribution of Political Campaign Ads

Campaign Legal Center (CLC) filed a complaint with the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) to investigate possible Hatch Act violations committed by senior White House and Department of Homeland Security officials for the production and distribution of political ads touting President Trump. The production and distribution of these advertisements could be considered political activity in violation of the Hatch Act. Furthermore, possible coercion of subsidiary federal employees to assist in the production and distribution of these advertisements could be a criminal violation. An OSC investigation is needed to determine if these senior officials committed both civil and criminal Hatch Act violations through the rollout of these advertisements.
