On Aug. 24, 2022, Campaign Legal Center (CLC) filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleging that unknown contributors violated the federal straw donor ban by making over $620,000 in contributions to the super PAC Fighters for a Strong America PAC in the name of “Leadership Action Fund,” an obscure Delaware tax-exempt corporation, thereby concealing the true contributors’ identities from public disclosure. The complaint also alleges that Fighters for a Strong America PAC violated the law by knowingly accepting contributions made in the name of another.
