CLC Explainer on the Erosion of Agency Ethics Programs Across the Executive Branch

Campaign Legal Center analyzed data published by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics regarding federal agencies’ ethics programs within the executive branch. The data reveals an overall depreciation of federal ethics programs across the government, including reduced compliance with federal ethics and financial disclosure laws, failure to report and prosecute criminal ethics violations, and a significant decrease in the number of ethics officials remaining within the executive branch.
