CLC and American Oversight Complaints Against DHS, USCIS and SSA

On October 31, 2025, Campaign Legal Center (CLC), along with American Oversight, filed three lawsuits under the Freedom of Information Act, seeking to compel the production of various records the organizations had requested over the summer regarding the operation of the Systematic Alien Verification of Entitlements (SAVE) program and its recent overhaul to include information about all U.S. citizens. The three lawsuits seek to compel the production of directives, contracts, and communications regarding these activities, which are part of the Trump administration’s attempts to impose more executive branch control over election administration.
