CLC Alleges Pop-Up PAC Targeting Colorado Primary Violated Federal Reporting Rules
On June 25, 2026, Campaign Legal Center (CLC) filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) alleging that Mile High Accountability Project, a “pop-up” super PAC that spent $350,000 on political ads attacking a Democratic primary candidate in Colorado’s 1st Congressional District, violated federal reporting rules. Specifically, CLC’s complaint alleges that based on its reported independent expenditures in that election, the PAC was required — and failed — to file a pre-primary election report by June 18, 2026, 12 days before Colorado’s upcoming primary elections. As a result of the PAC’s failure to file this required report — compounded by a series of errors and omissions on its independent expenditure report — voters were denied information about the PAC’s sources of funding and electoral activities.
