Brief for Plaintiff-Appellee Giffords
Campaign Legal Center (CLC), on behalf of our client Giffords, an organization committed to reducing gun violence, filed its brief in the D.C. Circuit, arguing that the NRA is not entitled to try to upset a long-standing judgment that the Federal Election Commission (FEC) failed to timely take action on complaints regarding the NRA’s unlawful coordination in support of various candidates for federal office. That judgment authorized Giffords to file its citizen suit against the NRA. The brief argues that the NRA is barred from attacking the judgment by the applicable rules, the D.C. Circuit does not have jurisdiction to overturn the judgment, and that the NRA’s arguments are wrong on the merits.
