Amicus Brief — CASA, Inc. v. Trump (Birthright Citizenship EO Litigation)

On June 6, 2025, CLC and Dēmos submitted an amicus brief on behalf of Secure Families Initiative (SFI) in CASA, Inc. v. Trump, a Fourth Circuit case challenging the Trump administration's executive order that seeks to unconstitutionally end birthright citizenship. The brief argues that the 14th Amendment's guarantee of U.S. citizenship to all persons born in the United States — regardless of who their parents are — is essential to maintaining a government that is representative of all Americans.
