Amicus Brief on Behalf of Former Employees of the Special Litigation Section of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice

Campaign Legal Center (CLC) filed this amicus brief on behalf of 39 former employees of the Special Litigation Section of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in support of the plaintiffs in Tincher v. Noem, a case brought on behalf of protesters and legal observers in Minneapolis alleging that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is violating their First Amendment rights. This brief draws the court’s attention to matters where the federal government has found local law enforcement agencies violated the First Amendment rights of protesters and observers and urges that the federal government should be held to the same standard as those agencies.
