PBS tonight will air a new documentary, GerryRIGGED: Turning Democracy on Its Head, exploring non-partisan reform efforts underway to address partisan gerrymandering. The documentary will air at 9 p.m. EST and feature CLC Deputy Director of Redistricting Ruth Greenwood.

In jurisdictions nationwide, legislators have drawn legislative maps so that they can choose their voters, instead of voters being able to choose their representatives. Partisan gerrymandering creates an unrepresentative and unfair democracy and encourages self-interested politics.

The film investigates the non-partisan reforms moving forward in Virginia and at the national level to ensure fair elections.

CLC’s Greenwood is one of the lead litigators advancing a legal solution to end unconstitutional partisan gerrymandering across the country. The documentary also features Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Vice Presidential Candidate and Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine and Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, as well as Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
