Where leadership PAC money goes to play
Brendan Fischer, director of federal reform for the Campaign Legal Center, said many politicians use leadership PACs as slush funds, but he noted that Himes’ PAC doesn’t appear to fit that mold because a “sizable majority” of his spending went to fund other candidates. “I suspect that the Vail expenditures are for JIM PAC fundraising expenses, which don’t raise significant concerns because the funds raised are largely going towards legitimate contributions.”
