Some critics say the campaign’s statement is a sign that the super PAC is not truly independent of the Trump campaign. Campaign Legal Center, which supports greater campaign finance restrictions, plans to file a complaint in the coming days with the Federal Election Commission claiming the statement is indeed a solicitation and that the campaign should have added solicitation qualifiers as required by the law. But others say while the campaign’s wording is blunt and bold, it is not a clear violation of restrictions on coordination or solicitations.
