Star-Ledger: Most Campaign Cash to N.J. House Members Came from Out-of-State Donors


“They are the cash constituents,’’ said former FEC General Counsel Larry Noble, a lawyer with the Campaign Legal Center, a Washington-based group that supports stronger campaign finance laws. “They need to keep these contributors happy. If you happen to have a voter standing outside your door and a lobbyist for a company whose employees have donated a lot of money, whom are you going to see? In most cases, you’re going to see the lobbyist first.”
