“Over the last several months, we have seen sustained efforts to make it as hard as possible to vote, but I think one of my takeaways from yesterday is that a lot of those efforts were unsucessful,” said Dana Paikowksy, the equal justice works fellow at Campaign Legal Center. “People turned out in record-high numbers. We saw our election administrators, who really are the heroes of the day, finding ways to make voting safe for people, and I think that what most people took away from yesterday is that our election went forward much better than anyone expected it to.”
