"The press is reporting that former vice president Biden is the president-elect, meaning that, based on the reports out of the voting officials in every state, he has won enough states to have a clear Electoral College majority. Now, those are referred to as ‘unofficial results,’” said Trevor Potter, president of Campaign Legal Center. “What's happening right now is that, all across the country, they are canvassing those results, which means, simply, they're checking their numbers. They will then have final numbers, which will be certified by each state through its own process.”
