More troubling, the complaint also questions "whether the candidate concealed the sources of the funds from the public," according to Adav Noti, a former FEC associate general counsel and the Campaign Legal Center's chief of staff and senior director of trial litigation. The Campaign Legal Center's Noti told the newspaper if an investigation occurs and points to evidence of misconduct, there could be some sort of fine, or more severe penalties depending upon the seriousness of the findings, a process that could take up to two years.
