The National Law Journal: Boston Firm Hit With Formal Complaint Over Political Donations
After a news investigation raised questions about the political fundraising efforts of Boston's Thornton Law Firm, an election watchdog group on Wednesday lodged a formal complaint seeking a campaign finance investigation of the personal injury firm and three of its partners.
The complaint was filed by from the Campaign Legal Center, a Washington-based nonprofit organization headed by Trevor Potter, a former Federal Election Commission chairman who previously headed Caplin & Drysdale's political law practice and served as general counsel to Sen. John McCain's 2008 and 2000 presidential campaigns.
