Paul S. Ryan, senior counsel to the Campaign Legal Center, said that organization has no idea what’s going on with their complaint — “We’re still in the waiting stage.”

“Our concern at the time and our concern continues to be today that now that the Supreme Court has allowed corporations to get involved in election fundraising and spending, you’ve seen some abuse of shell companies, to hide the true source or the true identity of the source of the funds behind the political spending,” Ryan said. “While it is indeed true that super PACs are required to disclose their donors, that information is of little value to donors if all that gets disclosed is the name of some innocuous sounding shell company.”
