A Democratic member of the Federal Election Commission and a former chairwoman, Ellen Weintraub, have rebuked the president. So did another former FEC chairman, Trevor Potter, a Republican and former counsel to John McCain’s presidential campaigns. “The only thing that is fraudulent is the president’s false statements calling into question the integrity of our election system and undermining confidence in whoever is declared the winner,” said Potter, president of the Campaign Legal Center.
