Indiana Senate GOP poised to keep supermajority under redistricting plan. Here's why.

According to a PlanScore analysis based on previous election data, the Senate would likely keep its 39-11 divide in favor of Republicans, even with districts shifting dramatically in some cases. Even then, some of the districts predicted to be Democratic seats would likely be competitive, based on the analysis. PlanScore is a tool from the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center, used to score redistricting plans around the country. Even with the overall advantage for Republicans, lawmakers from both parties could have to face their peers in upcoming elections under the proposed maps.
