Annabelle Harless, a redistricting counsel for The Campaign Legal Center, which is advising the local advocates, said attorneys are trying to determine whether anything can be done for November, but noted that ballots will be printed soon.

“It’s unlikely anything would be able to be done for the November election,” Harless said.

She said Concerned Citizens of Joliet has not made a decision on whether to appeal. Harless also said lawyers are still reviewing whether a successful appeal could avert another petition drive to get the referendum on the ballot.
