The Washington, D.C.-based, Campaign Legal Center has filed a federal complaint against two Kansas political action committees. Erin Chlopak is Director of Campaign Finance Strategy at the non-profit group. “They were set up in a way so that they sort of appeared as if they were local super PACS, spent lots of money to influence elections and didn’t disclose that they were essentially completely funded by these national super PACS,” Chlopak said. Chlopak says she hopes the complaint will help make it clear when national advocacy groups are funneling money into Kansas races.
